One of the elite names in hairstyling today, Max Pinnell has witnessed fashion from the front lines throughout the past three decades. A native of Sydney, Australia, Max grew up with a single mindedness for hair that few possess. His talents are considered by many to be on par with the finest in the world. Max has lived his professional life in New York for many years and throughout that time has had the great pleasure to work with the finest photographers, models, celebrities and clients in the world.

No doubt it was his collaboration with famed photographer Herb Ritts that started his push to stardom back in the early eighties. The images captured by Herb created a body of work for Max that still stand today as some of the finest imagery in fashion and celebrity portraiture. Clients such as L’Oreal Paris, Vanity Fair, Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Allure, Pantene, Victoria’s Secret and Maybelline soon followed and Max began his non-stop traveling around the world.

It was with these clients, in these marketing images, that Max defined his greatest talent with hair: the creation of luxurious, rich, aspirational looks. It was through Victoria’s Secret that he met supermodel Stephanie Seymour, his muse and dearest friend for many years. They went on to work on hundreds of campaigns and editorials together with photographers such as Patrick Demarchelier, Bruce Weber, Mert & Marcus, Peter Lindbergh and Inez and Vinoodh.

Today, Max continues to call New York his home and frequently collaborates with major hair care brands and celebrities to help unlock their potential and appeal to the masses.
