Remi Pyrdol

Biography

Originally from Poland, Remi moved to NY in 1990 at the age of 13. His love for photography developed early on from watching his father work in their home darkroom.

In 2006, Remi graduated from the School of Visual Arts with Bachelor in Fine Arts and Photography. During his studies, Remi was selected to be part of the Mentor Program. Kathy Ryan, editor at The New York Times Magazine, mentored Remi during the yearlong program and this culminated in an exhibition titled: Mentors which was shown at the Visual Arts Gallery in New York City, 2006.

Shortly after graduating, Remi began work as a freelance photo assistant for the legendary Arthur Elgort as well as renowned photographer Coliena Rentmeester. After five years of assisting his personal work had begun to take shape and this led him to enter and win the Mini International and Lebook award at ITS FIVE Photography competition in Trieste Italy. This success gave Remi the momentum to go on his own full time and he quickly connected with a myriad of clients such as Nordstrom, J Crew, Old Navy, Fossil, Amazon, GAP, Garnett Hill, Goop and Anthropologie.

In his spare time, Remi puts down the camera to rock the bass in his band. He is based in New York City where he lives with his family in Brooklyn.
